OGA Malaysia 2019 Review

Another successful week in Malaysia at the South East Asia region’s most popular oil and gas industry event. Springtech personnel had the opportunity to meet with customers old and new and showcase our expanding range of springs including our newest investment in taking our wire diameter coiling capabilities up to 25.4mm (1″).

Springtech’s Commercial Manager, Chris Eaton, was interviewed during the show discussing the added-value of participating under the umbrella of the UK Pavilion managed by the Energy Industries Council (EIC)

DSEI London 2019

Springtech will be exhibiting at the DSEI show, the world’s leading defence and security event, at the Excel Centre, London in September.

Valve World Expo 2018

ADIPEC Abu Dhabi 2018

Springtech is excited to be exhibiting at the Adipec Abu Dhabi Show for the first time in November. As a member of the Energy Industry Council (EIC) our exhibition stand will be located within the UK Pavilion in Hall 8.

There will be examples of bespoke compression, extension, torsion, garter and wave springs on display covering applications ranging from valves, pumps, sealing systems, ROV and marine equipment.

Springtech technical staff will be on-hand to offer expert advice on spring design and material selection including NACE compliant applications.

Compression (valve) springs for Nuclear industry

A perfect example of what we offer as a full-service spring design validation and manufacturer.

We were contacted by a major nuclear generation facility carrying out service work during a routine maintenance shutdown. The customer had a requirement for some replacement springs which had failed in a critical valve system (no longer supported by the OEM). Turnaround times were very tight as the customer had only one week to get the valve back on-line.

The customer sent us a sample of one of the collapsed springs (no drawing was available) and our Engineers immediately diagnosed the failure as an issue with the original specification of material for the working environment – chemical contact exposure.

Using our spring design validation software our Engineers upgraded the material specification to Phynox which would deliver enhanced reliability and longevity in this working environment but still met the dimensional and spring rate specifications. The customer signed-off on the new spring and our manufacturing team got to work on coiling, heat treating and grinding the springs.

From the initial customer contact through manufacturing, inspection and shipment took just four days!

Agricultural Harrow Torsion Springs

At Springtech our engineering team are specialists in bespoke springs for a wide variety of applications. We have extensive experience of developing springs and wireforms for manufacturers and farmers in the agricultural vehicle and equipment sector.

One of our fastest moving products is the Springtech Harrow Torsion Spring (originally developed as a service component for Gray’s Harrows). Made from 35 coils of 9.4mm carbon steel wire the legs have been designed to allow the farmer to easily fit the spring to a range of harrowing equipment.

As harrowing season is so weather dependent, we hold stock of the Harrow Spring to ensure that agricultural equipment dealers, service workshops and farmers can order our springs on a quick turnaround and take full advantage of a break in the weather!

SPE Offshore 2017

Springtech to exhibit again at Europe’s leading E&P show

Springtech will be in Aberdeen again in September to reinforce their ongoing commitment to the offshore Oil & Gas sector.

The SPE Offshore organisers are forecasting 50,000 visitors from 100 countries who will have the opportunity to connect with over 1000 exhibitors during the four day event in the first week of September. The conference sessions include keynote addresses from the CEO’s of Shell and BP.

Springtech will be showcasing their engineering and manufacturing capabilities across the spring, wireform and presswork product group technologies. Staff from the Engineering and Commercial teams will be on hand to welcome customers old and new!
