Torsion Spring – a spring whose dimension in the direction of the applied load, increases under the action of that load.
Torsion Springs are used primarily in rotary applications e.g. switches, they can be used to provide torque as well as load application with the addition of pitches between the coils. Applications vary from the traditional clothes peg, to watch movements and heavy duty doors/ramps.
